CAMARO'S 40th Anniversery Event Detroit - August 07
August 8-11th, 2007 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Camaro in Detroit
We had 23 members and 11 cars. Some drove up on Thursday and the rest of came up Friday. Diane & Chris Peters showed up at 10:00pm Friday Night and had to leave at 5am Sunday Morning, our hats off to them as we all know Saturday Night was a LATE NIGHT!
The car show that took place at the GM Tech Center. We were not very happy at all with the organization. There were beautiful cars there from all over the States and we all made stronger friendships with our fellow members! Bob & Patty Stumpf received a 2nd place award for the 67 Camaro, Congrats!!!! The red convertible Camaro & Firebird you see in the pictures, are inside the Tech Center. They are the last production built cars of the line, in 2002.
On February 10th, 2007 over 100 Camaro Enthusiasts from the club went to the Chicago Auto Show to see the much anticipated 5th Gen Camaro Convertible! We started our day bright and early at 7:30am in a conference room at the McCormick Place. There we were met by some of the finest employees that represent GM/Chevrolet! Amongst names you may recognize, Scott Settlemire led the presentation. He told us only what he was allowed to disclose about the 5th Gen; like there will be a V6 & V8, and the coupe should be available in Feb of 2009. After Scott's small presentation, we were taken up into the autoshow, before the public was allowed in!!! Just us, no one else! There Scott unveiled the Camaro and talked to us about it some more, along with some other fine representatives of GM. A Big Thank You to GM/Chevrolet for this awesome opportunity we were given!
