April 10, 2010 It’s that time of year again! Rick Murphy owner of CARS - Classic Auto Restoration Services (a distributor of Meguiar’s Products) came out to Sponsor, Bristol Hose, for a demonstration on the most recent techniques for the beauty of our Camaros. Our model car was Raquel, Jim Hughes 2000 Camaro Z28. (And this is a good thing, on account that Mr. Hughes is so busy studying the human anatomy he just won’t have much time to do detailing himself!) Rick gave a verbal presentation and answered questions from our members, then proceeded to demonstrate with new products available from Meguiar’s as well as the newest buffer machine! There was a spot on the front hood and as you will see in the photos on page four, everyone was leaning over to see it! Rick had all of the member’s attention while disclosing the secrets and trades of a professional detailer! Thanks to Mr. Murphy for his time and expertise! Mr. Rory Smith and Mr. Chris Peters were in charge of running this event. Thanks guys for the time and planning involved to getting the season off to a great start! On March 20th, 2010, the Illinois Camaro Club had the Amazing opportunity to visit Nickey Chicago! At 10am, 50+ ICC Members gathered in the conference room, where we were given our “Nickey History Lesson”. Stefano Bimbi, owner of Nickey, along with his wife, Beth were very gracious and went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional visit. With multiple projects going on in his shop, Camaros from the gorgeous 1st generation to the sensational 5th generation, all were in awe! Nickey has pioneered the way for many of the new performance modifications on the 5th generation Camaros, and we were lucky enough to see some “work in progress” Camaros!
On behalf of the Illinois Camaro Club, a
BIG THANK YOU to Stefano and everyone at Nickey Chicago!

LANE AUTOMOTIVE 2008 OPEN HOUSE AND CAR SHOW REPORT
Oh Dark 30 came awful quick Saturday Morning, May 24th. But, nine hearty souls congregated at the Lincoln Oasis very early for the trip over to Watervliet, Michigan and the Annual Lane Automotive Car Show. Unlike last year, we had a beautiful (if somewhat cool) departure. We brought a total of six cars to the show. (Rich and Colleen Hanck, Jeff and Debbie Peloquin, Chris and Diane Peters, John Oliver, Tom and Alex King, and John Green.)
We left the Rendezvous point at 6:15 A.M. Some of us arrived at Lane at 8:25 A.M. Thanks John Oliver for watching my tail all the way! There were over 1,000 cars on display. Which in and of itself was pretty awesome. You name it; there was something there for everyone. From Rat Rods to Hemi Powered Motorcycles! Also, had a nice visit with the folks from the Western Michigan Camaro Club. They have extended an invite for ICC to participate in the Berger All Chevy Show on August 23rd in Grand Rapids. This will include a meet and greet barbecue, cruise on 28th Street in Grand Rapids and the Show itself. (See information on the Events of Interest Calendar) I will send out a copy of their flyer via email later.
The day turned out to be very lovely (Mid 70’s and nice sunshine occasionally broken by clouds). Thanks to all who turned out for this road trip.
